Animation 1.4.1 · Longer undo, files on the Desktop

⌘Z now goes back as far as you need (up to 200 steps), and each document keeps its own steps — switch to another document and back and they are still there. ⌘Z in the panel never takes away a step of your own work in Illustrator. Save, Save as…, Open, Import and every export start on your Desktop. Ilo Raw 1.0.6: Export PNG and Open a photo start on the Desktop too.

The ilo panels no longer do anything in the background. Nothing runs while you work in Illustrator, while a panel is hidden, collapsed or minimised, or when Illustrator starts — a panel looks at your document only when you work in it. Ilo Animation reads the document without ever opening a document of its own, and Ilo Raw and Ilo Retouch no longer watch the selection from the background. All four tools · Close and Uninstall

Every panel has Close, which stops it completely, and Uninstall…, which removes it from your computer (and can free the computer’s activation). A panel also tells you when an older copy of it is still installed, and shows you where.

Animation 1.3.4 · Every document on its own canvas

A new document starts clean (no rows, background or size from the last one) and each document gets back only its own animation. Background and canvas size go straight into Illustrator, also in a new, empty document, and the canvas size now changes the artboard itself. Text and shapes always land on the same canvas. Open lets you pick an .ilo file again.

Animation 1.3.4 · Type, zoom and a steadier panel

The font list shows each name on the left with a sample on the right, a live preview, and letter and line spacing like Illustrator's. ⌘+ ⌘− ⌘0 zoom the stage. Drag a row's bar to move that element's animation in time. Clicking never selects everything by itself any more, and when Illustrator squeezes the panel the stage and the timeline stay in view.

Animation 1.3.3 · Selecting and moving

Select all, then drag any block: every selected row moves through time together, and on the stage every selected element moves with the one you drag. Click one element, row or block to keep only it; click an empty spot or press Esc to let go.

Animation 1.3.3 · Open, Save and the library window

Open and Save sit next to Export, with Save as… under the arrow. The big library is a window of its own: move it, resize it from any edge, set the card size, close it with ✕, and everything you add flashes ✓ Added.

A pasteboard around the canvas: what moves off it stays visible and can be dragged back. Resize with eight handles, as in Illustrator. Change any element's colours from the inspector. Zoom about the mouse, scroll to pan.

MAC INSTALL

    Open the .dmg

    Quit Illustrator (⌘Q), then double-click the file you downloaded.

  2. 02

    Drag it across

    Drag the tool’s folder onto Adobe Extensions in the same window. Click Authenticate and enter your Mac password. Updating? Click Replace.

  3. 03

    Open it in Illustrator

    Window › Extensions › Ilo Raw, Ilo Color Tools, Ilo Retouch or Ilo Animation. Paste your key and you’re ready.

WINDOWS INSTALL

Even simpler.

  1. 01

    Run the setup

    Close Illustrator and open the Setup.exe you downloaded. No administrator rights needed.

  2. 02

    If Windows asks

    On “Windows protected your PC”, click More info › Run anyway, then Install.

  3. 03

    Open it in Illustrator

    Window › Extensions › the tool. Paste your key and you’re ready.

UNINSTALL

Remove a tool any time.

    From the panel

    Open the tool in Illustrator and choose Uninstall… (in Ilo Animation, Raw and Retouch under ⋯; in Color Tools at the bottom of the panel). Tick free this computer’s activation if you want to use your key elsewhere, then restart Illustrator.

    Or by hand on a Mac

    Quit Illustrator. In Finder choose Go › Go to Folder, paste /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions, and drag the tool’s folder (for example Ilo Animation, or an older com.ilo.… folder) to the Trash. Check ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions too.

    Or by hand on Windows

    Settings › Apps › the tool › Uninstall — or delete its folder from %APPDATA%\Adobe\CEP\extensions. Your Illustrator documents are never touched.
